Natasha Bent
Vice President - The Agency Group
Having originally graduated from BIMM University Berlin Brighton’s vocal course, Natasha’s first steps into the music industry were as a backing singer for Carleen Anderson. Now she runs an artist management and live agency, Mother Artists.
Natasha’s change of career path started with the creation of her own company, The Village Agency. Soon afterwards, she moved to the Agency Group in London, where she helped manage the careers of Foals, Amy Macdonald, CHVRCHES, First Aid Kit, Cage The Elephant, Foster The People, Gotye and The Knife, as well as breakthrough acts Ry X, Tom Misch and Youngr.
Natasha’s name was one of the first to be drawn in Music Week’s Women in Music Roll of Honour, which highlights a dozen of the music business’ most important and influential female executives from across every sector of the music industry.
Since then, she has joined forces with her brother, Mark, to launch artist management and live agency Mother Artists. Which sees Mark head up the artist management side of proceedings whilst Natasha, the leading agent, takes the reins on the firm’s live division, guiding the likes of Alex Amor, Amy Macdonald, Cate le Bon, Do Nothing, First Aid Kit, Heavy Lungs, Idles, Ry X, The Magic Gang, The Teskey Brothers and Thomas Head.
She’s come a long way since her days at BIMM University Berlin, but Brighton’s music business course leader Jon Stewart remembers Natasha’s student days: “I taught Tasha in the music business module in her first year at BIMM. She was a vocals student and was amazing! She attended every class and contributed throughout. After she had graduated, Tasha was always happy to come in and talk to new students and assisted those who were looking for help – either in the form of work experience opportunities or performers looking for an agent. She thoroughly deserves this recognition.”
