Dr. Enrique Perez

Dr. Enrique Perez is a game developer, researcher, artist, consultant with over fifteen years of experience in games design, development and gamification. enrique began their professional career in the 1990s and has since worked on a diverse range of international projects for the American, German, Danish, Swedish, Mexican, Yemeni, Burmese, and Thai markets. These include interactive media, toys, analogue and digital games (casual, strategy, combat, match-3, party, rhythmic, puzzle, educative), postings, gamification, installations, performances, and an amusement park attraction.
enrique's academic and professional accomplishments are as extensive as their career history. They have received several awards and scholarships, and presented games and animated clips at international festivals. They have published a comic book, and their animated music video has been screened at selected cinema theatres in the US, and premiered on AOL's music site, TheSpinner.com. Beyond their own accolades and achievements, enrique's past students have also gone on to do great things in the industry, including significant game design awards across the globe for work created on their course.
With bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication Science, Classical Animation and New Media and Game Design, enrique achieved their Ph.D. magna cum laude in 2019 with a thesis focused on design theory, design methods, and game design applied to indie game development.
