Jane Arnison
Senior Lecturer, Music Production & Songwriting
Jane is the Course Leader for Music Production as well as a Songwriting Lecturer at BIMM University Berlin. Originally from Australia, Jane relocated to Berlin several years ago and has immersed herself in the German music industry ever since. An in-demand multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and recording/mix engineer, Jane uses her considerable skill and experience to help artists and producers maximise the quality of their work, and has collaborated with inspiring musicians and artists from Peaches and Berlin hero MIKEY to Canada’s Austra and Berghain residents Steffi & Virginia.
Her band Evvol released their debut album via !K7 Records in 2015, and their 2018 single ‘Release Me’ was slated on the highest-rotation playlist for Berlin’s Radio Eins. Their previous single ‘Physical L.U.V’ was played on BBC Radio 1 in the UK and voted by Sweden’s national radio poll as one of the best tracks of 2016.
Jane is committed to developing and championing female engagement in technical aspects of the industry, having appeared at Berlin’s Ableton Loop Festival, Melt Festival and DICE Festival, as well as Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival. Her latest gig sees her representing Native Instruments as a product specialist.
As well as working on Evvol's follow-up LP and many other short projects, Jane is producing a mini-album for Finn Lynden and an EP for long-time collaborator CYT. She fantasises about one day finding time to complete her own solo album.
